Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Assess track assembly
   • Apply operating principles and terminology of track type undercarriage in assessing track assembly
   • Inspect for wear or damage and determine if component requires repair or replacement
   • Check track frame alignment and determine variances from specifications
2. Determine job requirements
   • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
3. Comply with work health and safety (WHS) requirements at all times
4. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with SOPs
5. Identify job requirements from specifications, drawings, job sheets or work instructions
   • Apply operating principles and terminology of track type undercarriage in assessing track assembly
6. Inspect for wear or damage and determine if component requires repair or replacement
7. Check track frame alignment and determine variances from specifications
8. Rectify and maintain track assemblies
   • Remove, repair or replace faulty track undercarriage components
9. Set track tension to specification
10. Adjust clearances to specification
11. Record all service/rectification activities
